ARCHERY
The principles of this activity are quickly learned and sessions include competition and novelty rounds. We use bows of varying sizes, 4ft targets, finger tabs and arm guards. Strict range discipline is always observed and controlled by our qualified instructors.
Archery is a great way of helping people to focus, improving co-ordination and leaving them with a brilliant sense of satisfaction whether they hit bulls-eye or just manage to hit the target!
CANOEING & KAYAKING
Canoeing offers teams of two the exciting opportunity to control and take command of an open boat. A big challenge, but after a very short time individuals will have the confidence to tackle rapids or place the canoe exactly where they want it on calmer waters. Canoeing is a great way of encouraging team work. Communication is paramount and the instructors will have plenty of structured games, which will inevitably result in most people getting wet!
Kayaking uses the same principles as canoeing, however you are going it alone and the boat is smaller. This is an excellent solo activity, which can install self confidence, encouraging people to be more self sufficient, enabling them to believe in their own abilities.
RIFLE SHOOTING
Rifle shooting calls for self-discipline, concentration and co-ordination as opposed to strength or athletic ability. Similar to archery, it is a great way of helping people to focus, improving co-ordination and leaving them with a sense of achievement and satisfaction.
RAFT BUILDING
Ropes, wood, plastic drums and no instructions. no it's not Blue Peter, these are the raw materials we'll give your staff to build a raft which they will then take to the water and hopefully not sink!
Raft building enables people to bring their individual abilities and skills to an environment where they have to work as part of a larger team. It's great to put people from different departments together, to encourage better communication and understanding of each others capabilities. Maybe encourage people to take it in turns as leader, so not to let the usual suspects take over, you might be surprised at the different management skills that emerge.
If you are a large group, we can split you into two teams and have a competitive element to the build, with points gained for who finishes first and whose raft floats the best. Either way this is a great team building exercise, which your staff will love.
BUSH CRAFT, SURVIVAL AND ORIENTEERING SKILLS
Ever fancied yourself as Ray Mears?? Well here's your chance to learn some invaluable skills, incorporating bush craft, Survival and orienteering.
It can be as basic as building / lighting a fire to make a cup of tea – to learning how to skin, cook and eat locally caught game. We'll teach your staff how to use a map and to navigate their way round the wood, usually run as a team challenge this is a fun activity for all abilities and fitness levels.
They'll learn how to build their own shelter, make their own fire and survive on only the basics. This is great exercise to encourage individuals to think practically but at the same time creatively, learning about prioritisation and time management.
PIONEERING AND TAILORED TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES
If none of the activities hit the mark, then we can create special team building exercises just for you. We can design exercises which are fun but at the same time will challenge your staff to really work together to achieve their goals. You tell us what you hope to achieve from the event and we'll come up with the combination of activities to achieve it.
